Wall E – Review

Wall-E is definitely Pixar’s best film right now. The animation is of course fantastic and the story has a very important message. Without spoiling the plot to much all I’ll say is that it’s about a problem with earth, a lonely robot and what has happened to humanity.

The film is being highly praised, specially by adults, but it’s still a children’s flick. What has adults bugging is probably the first half of the movie. I has that look and feel of sci-fi dystopias. But the second half turns that around and we get to see the “child” and fun part of the film, which is equally good.

It is funny, but this ain’t no Short Circuit. Yes, Wall-E looks a lot like Johnny #5, but this is a totally different bot. What’s funny about #5 is his dilemma of trying to be more human. In contrast, Wall-E’s funny-ness comes from how human-like he is and everyone and everything around him is being so unlike human.

By the end of the film I was a little scared, because I was expecting to be heartbroken, but silly me to not expect a happy ending. An instant classic and a film that will be talked about for a long time, specially by kids that view it again when a little older and get the overall message.
