The Most Passionate Music Fans Alive

If you’re a music fan, you know how saturated  ”best of year” lists can get. But for all the value they can bring, it’s hard to trust the truly critical from what’s done as a marketing schtick to sell more magazines. It’s been getting harder and harder to trust the “critics” with these end of year lists. No matter how different music magazines sort the top 50 albums, singles, or artists, the top 10 are always the same everywhere.

The Hypemachine is instead doing what they been always doing: listening to what people listen to on the web. The pitch for Music Blog Zeitgeist 2008 is this:

They started the list on January 5 with the first 10 of best 50 artist, albums, and songs, and will end it on January 9.
